Performance evaluation of community enterprise: A case study of investment in a rice cracker machine of sothorn pattana community enterprise, Chachoengsao province

The research aimed to implement an efficient community enterprise development plan as the basis for the development of SMEs in the future, and to develop competitive ability and business management sustainability. This research used primary data obtained from the project participants. The results showed that given a 12 percent discount rate, production by the new rice cracker machine had higher values for NPV, BCR, and IRR, and a shorter payback period than that of the traditional machine. Furthermore, the KPIs of the project were achieved, since the new machine not only decreased production time, labor, and waste in the production process but also created a new, smaller product and increased sales revenue by approximately 15 percent per month. In addition, supplemental marketing activity encouraged the Enterprise to develop two new product channels. The participating members were satisfied by the implementation and performance at a high level. © 2015, Kasetsart University. All rights reserved.
