การใช้วิธีการส่งเสริมแบบต่างๆ ของเกษตรอำเภอในภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย

จากการศึกษาการปฏิบัติงานของเกษตรอำเภอพบว่า การเยี่ยมเยียนเกษตรกรที่บ้านและไร่นา การประชุมกลุ่ม และการแจกเอกสารเผยแพร่เป็นวิธีการส่งเสริมที่เกษตรอำเภอนิยมใช้มากที่สุด สำหรับวิธีการส่งเสริมที่เกษตรอำเภอเห็นว่าเกิดประโยชน์มากที่สุดในการปฏิบัติงานนั้นได้แก่ การไปเยี่ยมเยียนเกษตรกรที่บ้านและไร่นา การประชุมกลุ่ม และการแสดงนิทรรศการ ปัญหาที่สำคัญในการส่งเสริมในด้านที่เกี่ยวกับตัวของเกษตรอำเภอคือ เกษตรอำเภอไม่ได้รับการศึกษา อบรม ดูงานเกี่ยวกับวิชาการใหม่ ๆ ด้านตัวของเกษตรกรที่เป็นปัญหาสำคัญสำหรับการส่งเสริมได้แก่ เกษตรกรมีพื้นฐานการศึกษาต่ำ ส่วนปัญหาในด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกสำหรับการปฏิบัติงานส่งเสริมคือ งบประมาณไม่เพียงพอ ข้อเสนอแนะที่สำคัญซึ่งมีการเสนอแนะได้แก่ ควรมีการกำหนดนโยบายในการปฏิบัติงานให้ชัดเจน ควรเพิ่มงบประมาณในการดำเนินงาน และให้มีการใช้โสตทัศนูปกรณ์ตลอดจนสื่อต่างๆ ที่มีความทันสมัยมากกว่าในปัจจุบัน สำหรับความสัมพันธ์ของลักษณะพื้นฐานทั่วไปของเกษตรอำเภอที่มีต่อการใช้วิธีการส่งเสริมนั้นพบว่า มีความสัมพันธ์กับ อายุ การศึกษา อายุราชการและอายุงานในตำแหน่งเกษตรอำเภอ

This study aimed to determine the extension methods used by district extension officers, opinions on the usefulness of extension methods, associated problems and solution, and factors associated with the use of extension methods. A mailed questionnaire method was designed for collecting data. A target population of 138 district extension officers in southern Thailand were used. The finding revealed that the method mostly used for personal contact was home and farm visit for group contact was group meeting and for mass media was printed materials. For usefulness of extension methods, the district extension officers perceived that home and farm visit was the most useful personal contact, group meeting for group contact and exhibitions or displays of printed material for mass media. For associated problems, they pinpointed that a lack of training in modern methods or opportunity to observe modern technology, a low level of formal education of farmers and insufficient budget were the constraint in routine work. They suggested that a clear policy about role performance should be established, annual budget should be increased and audio-visual materials should be upgraded for modern standards. For correlation analysis, it was found that age, education, length in public service and length of the position as district extension officer associated with the use of extension methods.
