  • Serological survey of Listeria monocytogenes was conducted in buffaloes of Gujarat, employing tube agglutination test (TAT), slide agglutination test (SAT), microtitre plate agglutination (MPAT), indirect haemagglutination (IHA), and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). A total of 267 serum samples were screened for the presence of listerial antibodies. Out of these 78 (29.21 percent), 39 (14.60 percent), 67 (25.09 percent), 72 (26.96 percent) and 64 (23.97 percent) samples were positive. After treatment of serum samples with 2- ME, a dramatic reduction of positive serum samples seen.
