  • Study was conducted to gain an understanding of the morphology of placental membranes and its effect on subsequent ertility in Surti buffaloes. The mean placental weight and mean number of cotyledons was 23.89+-0.10 kg and 76+-2.40, respectively. A significant positive correlation was observed between weight of the placenta and weight of the calf. Statistically there was no significant effect of placental weight, number of cotyledons on subsequent postpartum anoestrus, service period and conception.
